Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today reported sales of 89,555 units in December, a 2.4 percent decrease from the prior year. Nissan Division sales declined by 2.2 percent over last year for the month, while Infiniti Division sales decreased by 3.5 percent versus the prior year. NNA finished the 2007 calendar year with sales totaling 1,068,238 units, a 4.5% increase over 2006.
NISSAN HIGHLIGHTS
• Nissan-brand vehicles saw sales of 76,900 units, a 2.2 percent decrease on a daily sales rate basis compared with last year’s 78,663 units sold.
• Sales of the all-new Rogue crossover totaled 6,288 units in its third month of sales.
• The Versa subcompact saw a record December, with sales of 6,214 units, up 49.8 percent versus the prior year.
• The Altima achieved record sales in December, with 25,151 units, including 2,977 units of Altima Coupe and 964 Altima Hybrids. The Altima also experienced a record calendar year, with 2007 sales totaling 284,762 units.
• Nissan Division sales for 2007 totaled 941,200 units, a record calendar year and a 4.5 percent increase over 2006.
INFINITI HIGHLIGHTS
• Infiniti sales declined by 3.5 percent on a daily sales rate basis for the month, with 12,655 units sold, as compared with last December’s 13,112 units.
• The all-new Infiniti EX launched with 305 units sold in its first month.
• The G Sedan experienced a record year in 2007, with sales of 54,015 units.
• Infiniti Division’s sales in 2007 reached 127,038 units, a 4.5 percent increase over 2006.
