Celanese Honored by the American Chemistry Council for Safety Achievements

Celanese Corp. (NYSE:CE), a leading, global chemical company, announced it has received the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) Responsible Care Sustained Excellence Award for mid-size companies. The annual award recognizes companies for outstanding leadership under ACC’s Environmental Health and Safety performance criteria. This is the most prestigious award given under ACC’s Responsible Care initiative.

Companies considered for the ACC’s Sustained Excellence Award must demonstrate an excellent safety record, a positive trend in other performance metrics, and completion of management system certification and security verifications over a three-year period. The winner is chosen on the basis of both quantitative and qualitative measures that demonstrate sustained performance excellence over time.
